VILLOTA TASTING EVENT

Villota is a small and exciting project found in the hills of Rioja Alavesa.

Led by Carmen Perez Garrigues, the estate focuses on minimal intervention in the vineyard. Carmen employs sustainable practices, avoiding herbicides and relying solely on traditional methods like an old, trusty plough and careful observation of the environment. This hands-on approach allows her to harvest each plot of grapes at their peak quality.

Carmen’s family helped establish the renowned Rioja Alta winery, Contino, a collaboration between Ricardo Perez Villota and the famed CVNE wine group. However, in 2013, they branched out to create the Villota range of wines, driven by a vision of crafting unique, terroir-driven expressions. In 2021, the project gained further momentum with the addition of acclaimed winemaker Jesús Madrazo, enhancing the reputation and craftsmanship behind each bottle.

Tickets are £30 per head. The event kicks off at 7pm in Spanish Wines, 4 Stadium Close, Penarth Road, Cardiff, CF11 8TS.
