Imperial Reserva
CVNE have been making wine since 1879 based in the station town of Haro at the heart of La Rioja Alta. Confusion when labelling led to their world famous brand “Cune” being born and the winery hasn’t looked back. The winery now has 8 wineries including “Imperial”.
The plots for Imperial are closer to the Rioja Alavesa and Sierra de Toloño and are spread over 3 areas Villalba, Briones & Torremontalvo -with vines of over 40 years. The Imperial Reserva is aged for 2 years in barrel and 12 months in bottle. Light red berry notes and fresh black fruit notes balance nicely with the hints of liquorice and coffee and it’s all wrapped up in warm velvety tannins. Delicious to pair with hearty Spanish stews, lamb dishes or aged cheese.
