Imperial Gran Reserva
CVNE have been making wine since 1879 based in the station town of Haro at the heart of La Rioja Alta. Confusion when labelling led to their world famous brand “Cune” being born and the winery hasn’t looked back. The winery now has 8 wineries including “Imperial”.
Imperial wines are only made in good years and have been an emblem of quality since the 1920s. The Gran Reserva spends 24months in barrel and 36 months in bottle and only grapes from their very best plots in the Rioja Alta are used. Rich and sumptuous, this is full of jammy prunes and figs balanced with balsmic notes and hints of liquorice and spice. A classy wine to pair with lamb, duck, cured cheeses or just to enjoy by itself.
