The Barbadillo family are one of the key makers in the sherry trade in Spain . From their base in the coastal city of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, the Barbadillo family have a reputation of being the one of the biggest and best sherry producers.
This sherry wine started its life as a Manzanilla and then the flor was allowed to die away allowing oxidisation and maturation in the barrel. This process has given the sherry a deep topez colour with a roasted almond character, yet still retaining the characteristic flavour of the manzanilla. This sherry has also been sweetened with Pedro Ximenez to give it a raised edge. This lovely amontillado sherry is light amber in colour and is smooth tasting with a sprinkle of cinnamon. Smooth and honest in the mouth with a pleasant persistence.
Perefect to be drank with appetizers such as mature cheese, nuts and a selection of ham. Best served between 15-18 degrees.
